Office Professional – Finances

FYRA Engineering ( is a water resources consulting firm that specializes in dams design, levee certification and design, river and lake restoration, and stormwater management.  We are seeking an Office Professional focusing on bookkeeping, company financials, and project reporting to join our Omaha, Nebraska office and become an integral member of our team.


The primary role of this position will be to take care of bookkeeping, company financials and project reporting for FYRA Engineering.  The ideal candidate will be trained to complete the following functions;

General Bookkeeping:  Collect and pay accounts payable, reconcile bank and credit card statements, prepare financial reports and forecasting, coordinate with company accountant to provide information as needed, and compile information needed for insurance and retirement plan audits.

Company Financials:  Prepare monthly financial statements and workload tracking reports, monitor yearly company budget, assist with submitting payroll and expenses, and coordinate with employees on company retirement plan.

Project Reporting:  Run project time and costing reports for Project Managers on a monthly and as needed basis, coordinate with project sub-consultants to ensure account payables are timely and itemized correctly, prepare monthly project invoices/account receivables, and follow up with clients as needed.

The job is intended to be a part-time position.

Job Experience Requirements: 

Finance or accounting experience in a related industry is strongly desired.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and/or Access, is required.  Experience with Quickbooks or Quicken is preferred.

 Skills Requirements:

The candidate should have the ability to develop positive working relationships with all personnel, possess excellent written and oral skills, have working knowledge of computers, and be familiar with relevant software.  Advanced experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) is required.  Experience with Microsoft Excel and Access, Quickbooks, and/or Quicken is preferred.  Must be willing to take on new tasks as well as perform routine activities.
