FYRA Engineering Job Requisition
FYRA Engineering (www.fyraengineering.com) is a water resources consulting firm that specializes in dam design, levee certification and design, river and lake restoration, and stormwater management. We are seeking a Construction Technician to join our Omaha, Nebraska office and become an integral member of our team.
We are currently seeking an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI) with 0 to 3 years of experience to assist in the tasks to complete our water resources projects, which includes both office and field work. Office work includes a wide range of duties such as hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, design layouts, earthwork grading, GIS/AutoCAD drafting, developing construction plans and specifications and writing technical memorandums. Field work would include supporting our existing staff with surveying needs and construction observation of our projects. The split between office and field work will be a function of the selected candidate’s skills.
Ideal applicant will be team-oriented and must be willing to take on new tasks as well as perform routine activities. Candidate should be able to take direction from a supervisor, but also take initiative to tackle complex issues that arise during project work. Must be reliable and capable of working with minimum supervision at times.
Job Experience Requirements:
Zero to three years of experience is desired, and experience with water resources-related projects (dams, levees, streams, lakes, and stormwater) is a plus. Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, construction services and surveying is preferred.
Bachelor of Science in engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university. Water resources or environmental emphasis preferred.
This person has adequate written and oral skills in the English language, has working knowledge of computers, and is familiar with relevant software. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and car insurance; occasional use of personal vehicles may be required.
